no offense, but I didn't think you were the sort of guy to talk about practicalities.
( SAID WITH LOVE... kinda, but really, you made a tiny iron robot suit for a squidge, man. )
that's what I was thinking. maybe we could get a setup running and yeah it'd brobably work, but not for long if the bandits have two brain cells to rub together between them
I think it's worth considering though. trying to work on a tracking system to know if they're coming out way but if that fails an alarm system might help keep more people safe from the attacks.
[ well, pete gets to chill for a bit in a state of awful suspense, because tony doesn't answer. is he about to be responsible for some property damage????
no, he'll use the door like a human, but he's definitely broadcasting some loud Pantera that announces his entrance long before he pushes open the door, fully decked out in his new suit, which is quite a sight for the uninitiated. ] No one likes a party pooper, Parker.
( making full use of that app Gwen got the team, huh? well that's fine, he can handle a musical accompaniment better than explaining a hole in the ceiling to Zebediah. )
I cause enough property damage as it is, better to avoid it when I can.
( the Daily Bugle is always yelling about all the stuff he's broken, okay, he at least kinda tries when he's not fighting crime!!! Peter is seated in front of an admittedly ... unimpressive looking setup, a few flashing lights and wires everywhere and a rather subdued case that doesn't quite look like it belongs.
the trackers themselves are more impressive, small flat discs that look exactly like the bolt covers on the mechanical horses. and they're all live on a digital map, though it's admittedly lacking in detail. there's a mad flash of light in one spot, the trackers on the table in front of him, still without a home to actually track anything. he scratches a spot behind his ear; usually, he seems to keep his talents to himself. inviting someone to actually observe and appraise, well, it's sorta new for him. ) So? Think they'll work?
[ the helmet retracts as tony steps forward to survey the operation, picking up one of the trackers and flipping it over in his hand to examine as he steps around to take a closer look at the map. the set up isn't flashy, but it also doesn't disappoint - what he knew from the peter in his own world had led him to expect that the kid would know what he was doing, and tony's savvy enough to pick up on the intricacies and elegance of the ideas at play, even if the tech seems basic enough on the surface. ]
( defusing humor that isn't actually that funny is also a peter parker specialty. he's the sort of brilliant that didn't ever want to be noticed, after his dad died. he was capable of more and never let anyone with authority see it, not until Dr. Connors, and... well let's just say that hadn't gone super well. he doesn't suspect Tony is going to take advantage, if only because Peter won't let him, but...
it's still a little nervewracking. fine. he'll admit it. to himself. )
What kind of frequency are these running on? [ he taps the map once, before flicking the tracker in peter's direction, assuming he'll catch it and moving on without leaving a moment for an answer ] It's good.
It's more than good, but you know that. They won't know what hit 'em.
( he does catch it. let's pretend he's just that skilled and graceful, instead of genetically hotwired to react instantly to anything that came in his general peripheral.
the compliment isn't exactly expected and he could have said he didn't need one, and yet the flash of a smile indicates he appreciated it, anyway. Peter just isn't used to having someone that can intellectually stand up to him, much less outpace him. it's new and it could have been uncomfortable, but it isn't.
Peter doesn't respond to it other than that, though, at the very least determined to not make it weird. ) That's the idea. If they do know what hit 'em, then we're going to have a problem.
Yeah, okay. I can handle being the silent partner.
( he grins, clearly pleased. it'd help Audentes and it'd help the town, too. and yeah, fine, having someone he can turn to for advice? that was kind of nice, too.)
